A training camp for goalkeepers took place in Novogorsk

In Novogorsk, a training camp for goalkeepers took place for six players from the U16, U17 and U18 Russian national teams. They trained with Olympic team goalkeeping coach Alexander Kolobkov and youth national team goalkeeping coach Vladimir Kulikov.

Yegor Korzin, Artyom Kuzin, Ivan Novozhilov, Artur Dzhilavyan, Maxim Motorygin and Kirill Samsonov trained according to the techniques included in the Red Machine National Development Program for goalkeepers. The aim of the training sessions was to improve their tactical and technical ability and help the players adapt to the more intense tempo of ice hockey at international level. The goalkeepers participated in eight training sessions on the ice on their skating techniques, their positioning, playing with opponents on the crease and stick handling. A further eight training sessions were held for strengthening the muscles and developing coordination skills.

Technology which allows for any mistakes to be shown and ways in which to correct them was used.

Each goalkeeper was then given recommendations for improving technical ability, their physical condition and nutrition.

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation plans on holding such training sessions on a regular basis. Specialists which took part in the event stated that the training camp greatly helped the goalkeepers to continue improving. Regular participation in such training camps which run by the RIHF methodics will help young goalkeepers which play for Russian national teams.
