Reaction after Russia U18's victory against Sweden

Russia U18 coach Rinat Khasanov:

- The guys had a good focus for this match. At previous tournaments, we've struggled against Sweden, but today we broke that stereotype and managed to play the correct way. Nevertheless, we would like to play even more organised than in these two friendly matches. If we stick to what we have been working on, everything will be fine at the World Championship. At this junior level, the results are very unpredictable, so it all depends on what mindset the players have when preparing for matches.

Russia U18 forward Alexander Zhabreev:

- We skated well against the Swedes and stuck to the game plan. We'll have a rest for a couple of days before the World Championship starts. Both Belarus and Sweden are strong opponents, an example is Belarus' solid performance against the Czech Republic in their second exhibition game. There are no weak teams at the World Championship. I could have played better in this match, but the main thing is the team result. I will fight hard in every shift. My goal in overtime? I was given a nice pass from Maxim Sorkin and managed to score with Danila Galenyuk blocking the opposing player on the slot.

Russia U18 forward Yegor Spiridonov:

- This match against Sweden has left me with positive impressions. Yes, we didn't take advantage of all goalscoring chances and we took a few penalties, but the two early goals helped us. We have two days to correct our mistakes. Personally, I would like to shoot more and score goals. I really want to make the final roster, it would be the first major tournament for me. We have a good, tactically clever team.
